Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 1, 2026
Last Updated: November 1, 2026
Remember is a personal journaling and self-awareness application, not a medical service. But some of what you write or record in Remember, including journal entries, moments, intentions, affirmations, Converse conversations, and voice recordings, may reveal information about your physical or mental health, so we handle it under this notice.
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy (https://withrememberapp.com/privacy). It explains how we handle “consumer health data,” as defined by laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada’s consumer health data law, and similar U.S. state laws, each as amended. Consumer health data is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health status. It can include non-medical information, such as what you write about your mood, sleep, or stress.
1. What is collected.
We collect the content you enter or record in Remember, including journal entries, moments, intentions, affirmations, Converse conversations, and voice recordings, and the text of anything you dictate. We collect it only from you. Because what people write in a journal is personal, this content may include consumer health data, such as:
- Information about your physical or mental health, including conditions, symptoms, moods, stress, sleep, diagnoses, medications, therapy, or other care you choose to write or talk about;
- Information that shows you are looking for, or have received, health care, counseling, or health-related products or services; and
- Health-related details that our AI provider may notice in what you write and refer back to in its responses.
We do not ask you to provide any of this, and what you include is up to you.
2. How we use the information.
We use your consumer health data only to provide the Service you requested, which means:
- Storing your content so you can read, search, edit, and delete your journal entries, moments, intentions, affirmations, and recordings;
- Providing AI features. When you use Converse or other AI features, we send the relevant text to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates a response, and we show you that response;
- Storing and playing your voice recordings, if you use voice features;
- Operating and securing the Service, including keeping your account safe, preventing abuse, fixing errors, and keeping backups to protect against data loss;
- Responding to your requests, such as support questions, access requests, and deletion requests; and
- Complying with the law, and establishing or defending legal claims, where required.
We do not use your consumer health data for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. We do not use it for any purpose other than those listed here without first telling you and getting your consent.
3. Who receives the information.
We share it only with the service providers listed in Section 7.1 of our Privacy Policy that process it on our behalf, and only as needed to provide the Service. Stripe and Google do not receive your journal content. We have no affiliates. We do not sell this data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes or for advertising. We do not allow third parties to collect it over time across other websites or online services.
4. Your rights.
You have the privacy rights below that you can exercise concerning your consumer health data.
4.1. Right to confirm and access. You can ask us to confirm whether we collect your consumer health data and to give you access to it. You can also ask for a list of the third parties and affiliates that have received it. We have no affiliates, and we have shared your data only with the service providers described above. We do not sell your consumer health data.
4.2. Right to review and correct. You can review your content and change it at any time by editing your entries in the app. If you need help correcting something you can’t edit yourself, email us.
4.3. Right to withdraw consent. You can withdraw your consent to our collection or sharing of your consumer health data at any time. Because we need this information to provide the Service, withdrawing consent means we will close your account and delete your data as described under “Deletion” below. If you withdraw by email, we will confirm with you before deleting, and we will stop processing your data within 15 days of your request.
4.4. Right to delete. You can delete individual content or your entire account in the app at any time.
4.5. Right to appeal. If we decline a request, you can appeal our decision, as described under “Requests and appeals” below.
How to make a request. You can delete content or your account in the app. For any other request, email support@withrememberapp.com from the email address on your account. You do not need to create a new account. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity. We provide this information free of charge up to twice a year.
5. Deletion.
When you delete content or your account, we delete it from our active systems promptly, and in any event within 30 days after we verify your request. Copies in our database backups are deleted within 7 days after that, as the backups expire. Content we sent to Anthropic is handled under Anthropic’s own retention periods. As of the effective date of this notice, Anthropic states that it deletes content sent through its API within 30 days, except that content flagged by its safety systems may be kept for up to 2 years, and the resulting classification scores for up to 7 years. These periods are set by Anthropic and may change. We may also keep some information where required by law.
6. Requests and Appeals.
We will respond within 45 days after we verify your request. We may extend that once by 45 more days when reasonably necessary, and we will tell you why within the first 45 days. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing support@withrememberapp.com from your account email with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond in writing within 45 days with our decision and our reasons. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general. Washington: https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint. Nevada: Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection, ag.nv.gov, 702-486-3132.
7. Consent.
We ask for your consent to collect and use this information, separately from your agreement to our Terms and Privacy Policy, when you create your account.
8. Changes.
We will notify you of material changes as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not collect additional categories of consumer health data, or use or share it for additional purposes, without first telling you and getting your consent.
